POOLS in museums
January 8-28, 2023
Pools in Museums is based on the idea of entering fictitious art exhibits unconventionally through temperate pools of water. The paintings conceptualize the sensation of water as an intentionally calm vehicle to explore, learn and feel transformed by the beauty and power of art. Art galleries and museums strive to focus our attention on art through deliberately planned spacious or intimate environments. The galleries depicted here are envisioned as rooms that invite response to artistic expression with the added sensory experience of slowly walking or wading through waterfilled pathways. These waterways, represented as rhythmic patterns in the bottom portion of each painting, symbolize the psychological sensation of conscious immersion.
